Heart Valve Replacement

Heart valve replacement surgery is a procedure performed to replace a damaged or diseased heart valve with a healthy, artificial one. This surgery is typically required when a valve no longer functions properly due to conditions like valve stenosis or regurgitation. The surgery can be done via Open-heart Surgery, where the chest is opened to access the heart, or Minimally Invasive Surgery, where smaller incisions are made. There are two main types of artificial valves – Mechanical Valves, made of durable materials, and Biological Valves, made from animal tissue.
